Step 1. Set up a travel cage

In order to buy and take home a bird you must keep it in a cage. You have to keep Foxtail millet (also known as navane) ,water and a large cloth to cover the cage so that they would not get scared.

Step 2. Set up their enclosure

There are many good cages in India for cocktails. There will be a tray below the cage. You must cover that in paper so that the tray does not get dirty. Keep some fresh water, a bird feeder of your choice and half a hand of sunflower seeds. It is best to first set up the enclosure then go and buy the birds.

That is it for getting your bird now

We are going to start on how to take care of your bird.

Step 1. Check how much they eat

To take care of your birds you must check in what they eat. So the first day you get them keep a quarter of a hand of sunflower seeds. If they complete the whole thing the next day keep a half of a hand of sunflower seeds. If they do not eat the whole thing stick to a quarter hand of sunflower seeds.

Step 2. Check with the pet store clerk of your bird needs any medicines

The pet store clerk will suggest you to buy some medicines for your cockatiel such as Bird plus that helps in enhancing your cockatiel’s colour pigment, Vimeral that supplies the vitamins your cockatiel needs, Merical pet tonic which supplies minerals and proteins your cockatiel needs. One drop of medicine mixed with water every day.(if you get three medicines).

Step 3. Make sure you get a months old cockatiel

It is recommended to buy a months old cockatiel because it can be trained and it can become your best friend.

Step 4. Keep tap water in a large and wide tray

If we keep a long and wide tray for your cockatiel it will take a bath but since we have months old cockatiels you can use a sprayer.

Step 5. Keep a  few green vegetables seeds

Except cabbage you can keep any green vegetables such as beans, streaks, sometimes even rice, carrot ect. You can also keep sunflower seeds and Foxtail millets.
